What's Inside CueSync Theatre & Production Editions? (2026 Preview)
A first look at CueSync Theatre Edition and Production Edition — CueStack, Timeline automation, Timecode, Mission Control, Coordination Bus, and more.
CueSync TeamStage Automation Engineers
Beyond the DJ Booth
CueSync DJ Edition launched to solve a specific problem: give professional DJs real-time, audio-reactive automation across 13 output protocols. That problem is solved.
But stage automation doesn't end at the DJ booth. Theatre productions, corporate events, hybrid festivals, and touring shows need capabilities that go far beyond beat-reactive lighting. That's what Theatre Edition and Production Edition are built for.
Here's what's coming — and why it matters.
Theatre Edition ($24/mo)
Theatre Edition is designed for lighting designers, production managers, and technical directors who run scripted or semi-scripted shows. It includes everything in DJ Edition plus four major systems.
CueStack — Unlimited Sequential Cues
CueStack is a professional cue list engine. Build unlimited sequential cues with per-cue timing, fade curves, and conditional logic. Each cue can trigger any combination of CueSync's 13 output protocols — fire a GrandMA executor over OSC, send an OSC command to QLab, trigger a Resolume composition, and drive a DMX scene over Art-Net/sACN DMX-over-IP (experimental beta), all from a single GO button. Timecode (LTC, MTC, Art-Net TC, TCNet) is a separate Theatre Edition feature layered alongside the protocol outputs.
CueStack supports:
- Unlimited cue lists with nested sub-cues
- Per-cue fade times (in/out/dwell) with customizable curves
- Auto-follow and auto-continue for hands-free sequences
- Conditional cues that fire based on audio analysis or external triggers
- Manual override at any point without breaking the sequence
Timeline Automation
Timeline is a visual, time-based editor for programming complex sequences. Drag protocol events onto a timeline, set precise timing, and play back the sequence live or triggered from a cue.
Think of it as a lightweight show programmer that lives inside CueSync. For corporate events with timed video playback, award shows with musical numbers, or theatrical scenes with precise lighting choreography, Timeline gives you frame-accurate automation without a separate show control system.
Timecode — 5 Protocols
Theatre Edition generates and chases timecode in five formats:
- SMPTE/LTC (Linear Timecode over audio)
- MTC (MIDI Timecode)
- Art-Net Timecode
- TCNet (Pioneer's network timecode)
Generate timecode to synchronize external systems, or chase incoming timecode to lock CueSync's automation to a master clock. Essential for multimedia productions where video, audio, lighting, and automation must stay in perfect sync.
Mission Control HUD
Mission Control is a heads-up display designed for the production desk. It shows:
- Active cue list position and upcoming cues
- Real-time beat synchronization meters (beat, energy, frequency)
- Protocol status for all 15 outputs (connected, latency, errors)
- Timeline playback position
- Timecode generator/chaser status
One screen, everything you need to monitor during a live show.
Production Edition ($35/mo)
Production Edition is for the most demanding production environments: large-scale festivals, touring shows, immersive installations, and multi-operator teams. It includes everything in Theatre Edition plus three systems designed for scale and coordination.
Coordination Bus
The Coordination Bus allows multiple CueSync instances to communicate over the network. In a large production, you might have:
- One CueSync instance handling front-of-house lighting
- Another driving LED walls and video
- A third managing audio-reactive effects in a secondary space
The Coordination Bus synchronizes state, shares audio analysis data, and allows any instance to trigger cues on any other instance. One operator can coordinate the entire production, or multiple operators can work independently with shared awareness.
Predictive Preview
Predictive Preview uses CueSync's beat-event processing engine to look ahead in the music and show you what automation will fire before it happens. During rehearsals or sound checks, you can see upcoming beat triggers, phrase changes, and energy shifts on a visual preview timeline.
This is invaluable for:
- Rehearsals — Verify that your automation will respond correctly to specific musical moments
- Client previews — Show event planners and creative directors what the lighting will look like before the event
- Fine-tuning — Adjust thresholds and routing maps with instant visual feedback
Unlimited Venue Profiles
DJ Edition caps venue profiles at 3 and Theatre at 25; Production removes the cap entirely. Every room and stage keeps its own saved rig configuration — fixture groups, scaling rules, output routing — so switching venues is one click during load-in instead of a re-patch.
For touring productions and rental houses that set up and tear down in a different venue weekly, the profile library becomes the institutional memory of every room you have ever played.
Priority Support
Production subscribers get priority access to CueSync's support team with guaranteed response times. For productions where downtime costs thousands per hour, fast support isn't a luxury.

Pick Your Edition
All three editions ship at v1.0. DJ for reactive music-first shows, Theatre for scripted timecoded productions, Production when one show contains both. Everything in DJ — routing, venue profiles, AutoPilot, CuePad — carries through to Theatre and Production; you only ever add capability, never relearn the basics.
