GrandMA3 Setup Guide
Configure CueSync to control GrandMA3 over Art-Net or OSC, including network setup and executor mapping.
Prerequisites
- GrandMA3 console or GrandMA3 onPC running on the same network as your Mac
- CueSync DJ, Theatre, or Ultimate edition (all include GrandMA3 support)
- Ethernet connection recommended (Wi-Fi increases latency)
Step 1: Configure Art-Net Output in CueSync
- Open CueSync → Protocols → Art-Net.
- Click Add Output.
- Set the Destination IP to your GrandMA3 console's IP address (or
255.255.255.255for broadcast). - Set Universe to match a universe configured in GrandMA3 (default: Universe 0).
- Enable the output and confirm the status indicator turns green.
Step 2: Configure GrandMA3 to Receive Art-Net
- On GrandMA3, go to Setup → Network Protocols → Art-Net.
- Enable Art-Net input on the universe matching your CueSync setting.
- Ensure the GrandMA3 network interface is on the same subnet as your Mac (e.g., both on 192.168.1.x).
Step 3: Map Executors in CueSync
- Open CueSync's Routing Editor.
- Add a new routing rule with your desired audio trigger (Beat, Energy, Phrase, or specific frequency band).
- Set the output to Art-Net and specify the DMX channel range corresponding to your GrandMA3 executor fader.
- Adjust the value range (0–255) to match the executor's active range in GrandMA3.
Step 4: Test the Connection
- Play audio through your selected input source.
- Watch GrandMA3's executor faders — they should respond to the audio triggers you mapped.
- Use CueSync's Art-Net Monitor (Protocols → Art-Net → Monitor) to confirm packets are being sent.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely Cause | Fix | |---------|-------------|-----| | No response in GrandMA3 | Wrong destination IP | Check GrandMA3's IP in Setup → Network | | Faders jump erratically | Universe mismatch | Verify universe number matches in both apps | | Intermittent response | Wi-Fi packet loss | Switch to Ethernet | | GrandMA3 receives but wrong channels | DMX channel offset | Adjust channel start in CueSync routing editor |
