Resolume Arena/Avenue Setup
Enable OSC in Resolume, connect CueSync, map parameters, and use SMPTE timecode for timeline playback.
Supported Versions
CueSync supports Resolume Arena 7+ and Avenue 7+ via OSC. Resolume Wire is also supported for parameter automation.
Step 1: Enable OSC Input in Resolume
- Open Resolume → Preferences → OSC.
- Enable OSC Input.
- Note the port number (default: 7000). You can change this if it conflicts with another application.
- Optionally enable OSC Output if you want Resolume to send feedback to CueSync.
Step 2: Configure CueSync's OSC Output
- Open CueSync → Protocols → OSC.
- Click Add Target.
- Enter your Mac's loopback IP (
127.0.0.1) if Resolume is on the same machine, or the Resolume machine's IP if on a separate computer. - Set the port to match Resolume's OSC input port (e.g., 7000).
- Enable the target and confirm the status indicator is green.
Step 3: Map Audio Triggers to Resolume Addresses
Resolume uses a standard OSC address scheme. Common mappings:
| Resolume Action | OSC Address Example |
|----------------|-------------------|
| Trigger clip in layer 1, column 3 | /composition/layers/1/clips/3/connect |
| Layer 1 opacity | /composition/layers/1/video/opacity |
| Effect parameter | /composition/layers/1/effects/1/parameters/1 |
| BPM sync | /composition/tempocontroller/tempo |
In CueSync's Routing Editor, set the OSC address for each audio trigger rule.
Step 4: SMPTE Timecode for Timeline Sync
For frame-accurate timeline playback in Resolume:
- In CueSync → Protocols → Timecode, enable SMPTE LTC Output on your audio interface's output channel.
- Route that channel to Resolume's audio input (a loopback cable or virtual audio device).
- In Resolume, enable LTC input in the timecode settings.
- Resolume will now chase CueSync's timecode for frame-accurate clip playback.
Tips
- Use Beat-Reactive OSC for live DJ sets — no pre-programmed timeline needed
- Use SMPTE Timecode for corporate events or theatre with a fixed run order
- Enable Resolume's OSC output to monitor parameter values in CueSync's OSC console
