Quick Setup
- 1Configure Art-Net or sACN DMX-over-IP output (experimental beta, not yet verified on hardware) in CueSync's protocol settings — set the universe, subnet, and target IP. CueSync supports broadcast and unicast.
- 2Connect CueSync to the same network as your Art-Net nodes or sACN receivers. Most rigs run on a flat 10.x.x.x or 2.x.x.x show LAN.
- 3Use the universe mapping editor to assign triggers (beats, phrases, energy levels) to DMX channels and value curves.
- 4Bench-test the full path on your actual fixtures before any live use — DMX-over-IP output is beta and not yet verified on hardware. Watch raw channel values in CueSync and confirm the fixture physically responds.

Art-Net & sACN Questions
Not yet. DMX-over-IP fixture output is experimental (beta) and not yet verified on hardware — the code path exists end-to-end, but it has not been validated against real Art-Net/sACN nodes, so don't depend on it for a live show. Art-Net timecode output is production-ready and separate. We'll drop the beta label once it's hardware-verified.
In the beta path there's no hard per-edition cap; the practical limit is your network's frame rate at 40 fps DMX (the Art-Net spec) and your fixture count. As with all DMX-over-IP, bench-test on your hardware first — this path is not yet verified.
The beta path emits both protocols concurrently with independent universe maps — useful when one console reads Art-Net and another reads sACN on the same rig. Validate on hardware before relying on it; DMX-over-IP output is not yet verified.
sACN (E1.31) is the modern protocol — multicast, lower bandwidth, designed for installations. Art-Net is older but more universally supported, especially for budget nodes and free software. Use sACN if your gear supports it; Art-Net otherwise.
