Multi-Monitor Workspaces

What it's for — Pop any CueSync surface out into its own window and put it where the show needs it: Cue Pads on a booth touchscreen, the big Timecode clock on a stage-facing display for the crew, Pro Decks on a second monitor, the Show Editor beside your console. Every window shares the same live show — the same cues, the same beat, the same outputs — so a pad pressed on the touchscreen fires exactly as if you pressed it in the main window.

Opening windows

Open the Window menu and tick a surface to pop it out; tick it again (or close the window) to bring it back. Available surfaces: Home, CuePads (the Cue Pads grid), Pro Decks, Timecode (the big stage clock), Palette, Show Editor, Cue List (the show's running order in a window of its own), Diagnostics (when it is switched on) and Stage Display (a deck's waveform for a house screen); your edition decides which of them the menu offers.

Timecode also toggles with ⌘⇧T — the fastest way to throw the big clock onto a second display.
Window ▸ Close All Windows closes every pop-out window at once. The main window is never affected.
Each new window opens slightly offset from the last, so windows never hide each other exactly. A window you close and open again in the same session comes back where it was — on the same display, at the same position and size — or, if that display is no longer connected, at the usual place on the primary display. A window that was fullscreen reopens as an ordinary window.

Every window is a full CueSync citizen: it follows your theme and accessibility settings, adapts its layout to its own size (a touchscreen window renders touch-friendly controls while a desktop window renders compact ones), and carries the full menu bar — keyboard shortcuts, including Space for GO and the Transport panic chords, work no matter which window has focus. GO follows the show: while the main window is on Run Mode, Space in a popped-out Cues, Home, Decks or Palette window advances the show, exactly as it does in the main window. A popped-out Show Editor window never fires a GO — there, Space is the editor's own play / pause. The Command Palette opens in the main window only, so its menu item is switched off in a pop-out.

Drag a window to any display and resize it freely; use the macOS green button (or View ▸ Fullscreen) to take a window fullscreen on its display — ideal for the stage-facing Timecode clock.

Layouts

The Layouts menu saves and restores whole window arrangements:

Built-in starting points — Club (Cues + Decks), Theatre (Timecode + Cues + Show Editor), and Festival (Cues + Palette + Timecode). A preset is offered only when your edition can open every window in it, so DJ sees Club and Theatre sees Theatre and Festival. Apply one, then drag the windows to your real displays.
Save Layout As… — captures the current arrangement (which windows are open, where, at what size, and whether they're fullscreen) under a name you choose. Saving under an existing name updates that preset.
Delete Preset — removes a saved layout you no longer need.

Layouts are also saved inside your show file: when you save a project, the current window arrangement is stored with it, and opening the project restores the same arrangement.

When displays change

CueSync assumes displays come and go mid-show and never strands a window somewhere you can't see it:

Unplugging a display moves any window that lived on it onto your primary display, with a notification telling you which window moved.
Opening a show saved on a bigger rig (say, a three-display setup) on a laptop restores every window visible on the displays you actually have — anything whose display is missing opens on the primary display instead, again with a notification.

If a window has trouble

If a pop-out window ever has a display problem, it shows a recovery panel with Reload Interface and Blackout All Outputs buttons, while your outputs, cues and beat sync keep running and your other windows keep working.
