Integration
QLab, on Cue with the Music
CueSync sends OSC to QLab to start, stop, pause, and panic cues in real time — beat- and phrase-accurate playback without a stage manager riding every GO.

What CueSync Enables
Native QLab OSC
QLab's OSC dictionary is built in. CueSync targets /cue/.../start, workspace transport, and panic without plugins.
Cue Start / Stop / Panic
Start numbered cues, stop or pause playback, or fire a panic on energy changes and phrase transitions.
Beat- & Phrase-Accurate
Cues land on the downbeat or at phrase boundaries — CueSync locks to musical structure, not a stopwatch.
MSC for Theatre
MIDI Show Control (GO/STOP/RESUME/GOTO_CUE) for rigs that standardize on MSC instead of OSC.
Per-Show Profiles
Save QLab workspace routing per production and recall it instantly.
Honest Connection Status
QLab connection state and queued messages are always visible — no silent failures mid-show.
Quick Setup
- 1In QLab, enable OSC controls (Workspace Settings → OSC) and note the listening port; for MSC, enable the MIDI/MSC patch.
- 2Add a QLab output in CueSync pointing at the Mac running QLab and its OSC port.
- 3Map CueSync triggers to QLab cue numbers, transport, or MSC commands in the routing editor.
- 4Test in read-only mode and watch messages stream through CueSync's OSC/MIDI monitor.

Engineering facts
Specifics that hold up in production
The load-bearing claims behind CueSync's QLab integration. Numbers, named subsystems, test references — the things you can verify before the show.
Beat events processed in under 5 ms
CueSync processes beat events from Pioneer PRO DJ LINK in under 5 milliseconds on the cue-evaluation path. End-to-end latency depends on the operator's protocol chain and venue network; the CueSync portion is engineered to a strict sub-5-millisecond budget and continuously regression-tested. The OSC send budget is under 2 milliseconds.
MIDI Show Control for theatre
On the Theatre and Production editions CueSync emits MIDI Show Control (GO, STOP, RESUME, GOTO_CUE) alongside OSC, so it slots into the standard theatre cue-light and playback workflows that QLab already anchors.
QLab Questions
No. QLab exposes OSC and MIDI Show Control natively; CueSync speaks both directly.
Yes — CueSync locks to beat phase and phrase boundaries, so a GO lands on the downbeat rather than whenever a key was pressed.
Both. DJs trigger QLab playback from PRO DJ LINK beats; theatre ops use MSC GO/STOP from CueSync's timecode and cue engine.

How CueSync Compares
Other tools that connect here: QLab is often the master; triggering it externally requires custom OSC or MIDI mappings. CueSync fires QLab cues from beat detection and timecode, adding music intelligence to your existing show files.
